Are you looking for an authentic taco tour experience? Our flagship tour started in 2011, Signature Taco Tour, is for you! Let our bilingual foodie guides take you on a taco adventure as you stroll the historic streets of Old Town Puerto Vallarta.
Our Signature Taco Tour is offered every day and is limited to 10 guests to keep our curated tours intimate and engaging.
You can plan on 5 savory food stops tasting 5 to 7 tacos/foods on your tour along with stops at an outdoor market, bakery (excluding Sundays), tortilla factory, ice cream shop, and candy store. Tour routes change depending on partner operating days, but here is a sample of some of the foods and tacos you may find on your tour: beef birria, pork carnitas, carne asada, pork chorizo, Baja fish taco, chicken mole, pork adobada, tortillas hot off the press, fruit popsicles, pan dulce, and a traditional Mexican-candy sampling.
Departs
Daily 10am, 10:30am, and 11:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays (ideal for cruise guests).
The Signature Taco tour has limited options for vegetarians. Please check the FAQs for additional info regarding food allergies or other dietary modifications before booking this tour. For Vegetarians, we recommend booking “Tacos after Dark” as it has the most flexibility for substitutions. None of Vallarta Eats food tours are suitable for Vegan or Plant-Based lifestyles.
“Infant” tickets include one taco at location of choice, bottled water, Mexican sweet bread, and a popsicle for dessert

Pickup/Departure
The Signature Taco Tour begins outside River Cafe Restaurant in Old Town Puerto Vallarta (Isla Rio Cuale 4, Zona Romántica, Centro, 48300 Puerto Vallarta). Your Vallarta Eats Foodie Guide can be identified by the Vallarta Eats polo shirt they will be wearing. If you are driving please allow time to get parking. Make sure to check our FAQs for driving times from nearby hotels and resorts.
Ending Point
The tour ends near the starting point. Your Vallarta Eats Foodie Guide will assist you by providing instructions for returning to your hotel or vacation rental via foot, bus or taxi.
What to Bring
- Cash in Pesos additional food or alcohol purchases
- Cash in Pesos to tip your guide for our award-winning service (between 200 and 250 Pesos per person recommended)

- Additional bottled water in addition to the bottled water provided by your guide
Cancellation Policy
Tours or individual tickets cancelled more than 48 hours in advance of scheduled tour time will receive a full refund. Tours canceled fewer than 48 hours can be rescheduled with a $20 rebooking fee per guest, but are not eligible for refund. Tours that are rebooked cannot be refunded even prior to the 48 hour cancelation window. Guests who are “No-Shows” — guests who do not show up for their scheduled tour time or are not present when the tour leaves the starting point (10 minutes after the tour’s scheduled start time) are not eligible for refund, rescheduling, credit, or to join the tour in progress. Unless mandated by the national weather authority, tours run rain or shine, and tours will not be canceled once the tour has started. Guests who decide to abandon a tour for any reason once the tour has started are not eligible for refund, rescheduling, or credit.
Gift Cards and Gift Certificates are non-refundable.
Payment in cash is non-refundable.
Booking insurance is available for purchases of a $9.99 flat fee made through the website and covers cancelations made between 24 and 48 hours prior to tour start time
Custom tours are subject to cancellation policies as agreed upon between client and Vallarta Eats.
