Christmas in Pitillal Tour
Experience the magic of Christmas in Vallarta with an exclusive nighttime tour during Pitillal's annual Christmas carnival.
Christmas in Puerto Vallarta is a magical time of year with celebrations throughout the city that highlight the rich food and culture of Mexico. And this year, Vallarta Eats wants to share a side of the holiday season that many tourists never get to experience.
For the 2025 holiday season we are introducing a new, limited-time tour, Christmas in Pitillal. With a local guide who lives in the neighborhood, guests will go on an immersive, culinary and cultural tour of PV’s largest municipality, Pitillal, known for its welcoming residents and festive atmosphere.
Located close to Macro Plaza, Marina Vallarta, and the Hotel Zone, Pitillal is easy to get to by bus/taxi/Uber even from the Romantic Zone.
In addition to eating a wide variety of traditional foods (listed below) and aguas frescas, the tour will visit shops filled decorations and hundreds of miniatures specifically for Christmas nativities, stroll through street-side vendors selling holiday gifts, play games at the Christmas carnival in the main plaza, and receive a traditional “Bolo Navideño” (Christmas goodie bag).
Foods/Drinks Part of this Holiday Feast Include:
- Pork Pozole
- Beef Tamales
- Chicken Enchiladas
- Crispy Tacos Dorados
- Beef Gorditas
- Chorizo Volcanes
- Tacos al Pastor
- Churros
- Atole (warm corn-based drink), agua fresca, and bottled water
This tour is not suitable for vegetarians, vegans, or those with a plant-based diet. Though we can accommodate most food allergies (gluten, dairy, shellfish, nuts) there are no protein substitutions available on this tour.
Meets/Departs
The tour meeting point is outside The Church of Saint Michael the Archangel at 6PM December 18, 20, 21, and 23 only. This is a ticked tour and all guests must register and pay online prior to the tour. Spaces are limited to 10 guests per tour. There is no transportation provided by Vallarta Eats for this tour, but your guide can hep secure a taxi back to your hotel or condo following the tour if assistance is needed.
“Infant” tickets (0-3yrs) include one taco dorado, traditional agua fresca, churros, and holiday treat bag at end of tour.
Please check the FAQs for additional info regarding food allergies or other dietary modifications before booking this tour.
