Is there a difference between the Signature Taco Tour and the Tacos After Dark Tour?
Yes! The Signature Taco Tour starts at 10 am and focuses on tacos popular during breakfast and lunch (birria, carnitas, ceviche, seafood). Too, because it takes place earlier in the day, you have the opportunity to visit a tortilla factory, sample Mexican sweet breakfast pieces of bread, tour a local butcher and the public market.
The Tacos After Dark Tour begins at 7 pm and is a journey into nighttime street food, including, tacos de cabeza, tacos al pastor, fresh piping hot churros, seafood, and quesadillas. Mexicans love to eat out in the evenings, so the sights and sounds of the streets of vibrant Old Town Vallarta are unforgettable.
Where does the tour begin, and how do I get there?
Detailed information about your tour’s departure point (with a Google Map link) will be included in your confirmation email. Our starting and ending points are easily accessible by bus, taxi, or on foot. We strongly recommend that you plan your journey to the starting point so that you’re sure to get there at least 10 minutes before the start of the tour (we’re unable to hold tours for late arriving guests). Our tour prices don’t include transportation, but Puerto Vallarta Eats Food Tours can arrange private transportation for an additional fee. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
I have been to Puerto Vallarta many times. Is the tour still good for me?
Absolutely! On our tours you will explore hidden places and delicious Mexican Street Food; have the opportunity to meet the cooks and learn many new things about the food and culture of Mexico. Book today to experience the Puerto Vallarta food scene in a totally new way.
What if I have a group larger than six?
We can accommodate larger groups with advance notice. Often it is necessary to add an additional guide and make arrangements with our restaurants. Please email us at email@example.com with details.
What’s your relationship with the local restaurants here in Puerto Vallarta?
Vallarta Eats Food Tours choose only the finest Puerto Vallarta restaurants. We pursue a professional relationship because of their high quality. We strive to provide our guests with a unique gastronomic experience here in Puerto Vallarta.
I heard people get sick from eating Mexican food. Is this true?
All of our food stops have been tested and thoroughly vetted. More than 10,000+ guests have toured with us. Overeating is the biggest challenge you will face. Our stops are known by the locals for their quality, freshness, cleanliness and delicious authentic Mexican flavor.
I don’t speak Spanish, will this be a problem?
No problem. Our guides are from Mexico and are fully bilingual.
I’m a vegetarian, will there be food for me to eat?
While we offer some vegetarian choices, we do not recommend our tours for vegetarians.
How do I pay for my tour?
You can book and pay for your reservation by selecting your desired tour and date from our Calendar. You will then be redirected to a secure booking platform (protected by 2048-bit SSL encryption) where all major credit cards are accepted.
Once your booking is completed you will receive two emails; 1st to confirm the financial transaction and the 2nd confirming your tour with additional details (including a link to google map and meeting location).
What places will we go to on the tour?
We visit family-owned stands, restaurants, and carts, specializing in delicious, homemade Mexican foods. We’ll keep you off the tourist beat and introduce you to some of Puerto Vallarta’s best-kept secrets. Please see each tour description for more details.
How much food will I eat on the tour?
We visit 10-12 locations on the Signature Taco Tour, 4-6 spots on the Mole Pozole Tour, 4 restaurants on the Tasting Vallarta Tour, 4 spots on the Mexican Beer Experience Tour and 7 locations on the Tacos After Dark Tour.
No one ever leaves a Vallarta Eats Food Tour hungry!
Will I be able to drink anything on the tour?
Tasting Vallarta includes one alcoholic beverage (or soft drink) at each stop. The Mexican Beer Experience includes a sampling of up to 12 craft beers. Our other tours include fresh-fruit waters, but no alcohol. You and your group are free to purchase alcohol if you wish.
What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
We are happy to accommodate when we can. On your reservation form, please share any allergies or dietary restrictions. We’ll do everything we can to arrange substitutes for you.
We regularly accommodate guests who can’t eat:
Gluten, dairy, shellfish, pork or beef
Vallarta Eats tour participants are responsible for all the food they consume. If you have any allergies or concerns about ingredients, please ask your guide before consuming anything.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible? How about strollers?
Sorry, but our tours are not wheelchair accessible. The streets of Vallarta are very difficult to navigate as most are cobblestone.
Strollers work – bring the kids!
I have a bad leg, how far will we be walking?
Great question. Our tours last between 3 and 4 hours. We will walk from stop to stop on the tour. Please wear comfortable shoes; you will be walking approximately 1.5 miles. For guests with physical limitations, please contact us for a private tour where we can customize the route and stops based on your limitations.
Do you offer private tours?
What do I need to bring?
Feel free to bring an extra bottle of water, sunscreen, cash for any desired purchases, and especially your camera. Please wear comfortable shoes.
How much will the food cost?
The food is included in the cost of the tour. You are free to purchase additional food if you so desire.
Is there anything else I should know?
Vallarta Eats Food Tours acts only as agent for the stands, carts, and restaurants on our tours and cannot be held responsible for losses, delays, damages, accidents or injuries caused by persons engaged in carrying out the services of the tours. For more information, please read our Terms and Conditions.
What should I know about the Mexican Beer Experience?
Prior to setting off on the Mexican Beer Experience, all guests will need to complete a–Liability Waiver. This isn’t a big deal, but we just want people to enjoy themselves responsibly. Craft beers pack twice the punch of normal mass-produced beers, so we just want people to be conscious of what they can handle. As part of that, we recommend that you not show up on an empty stomach.
What if I really want to do a tour, but it’s not available on the day I’m free?
We have a lot of flexibility to accommodate you, so email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us what you’re looking for. In most cases, we can add tours with advance notice, and we’re happy to do it.
